New Summer Menu Launch

New Summer Menu Launch at The Carpenters Arms - An image of crab cakes from our new menu

Our new summer menu has launched

As we move into summer, with warmer days and longer evenings, our menus are changed to reflect the change in seasons. Our summer menus showcase some of the best seasonal produce much of which is grown in our own kitchen garden at Mount St John.

We have introduced the new Provenance Ploughman’s, a classic for all pubs, which is perfect to be enjoyed while dining on our sunny terrace overlooking the Vale of Mowbray. Or why not try the new seafood platter which our group chef has added a few modern twists to, both of these platters are perfect for al fresco dining with a glass of wine or a cold beer.

With the introduction of our new poultry supplier, Soanes, why not try the classic chicken kiev with a modern twist, or if you are after something lighter, why not try our refreshing dish of tuna steak with roasted summer vegetables. If you have a sweet tooth then try the Strawberry Alaska with a refreshing strawberry granita or a light vanilla panna cotta with raspberry & balsamic macaroon.

The Carpenters Arms Shortlisted for White Rose Award

We are thrilled to hear that we have been selected as a finalist for this year’s White Rose Awards in the category ‘Inns & Restaurant Rooms’. Hard work and dedication pays off! Well done to all the other finalists, the winner will be announced at the award ceremony on Monday 12th November. The Awards recognise the very best of this county’s thriving tourism industry including pubs and restaurants, food and drink, hotels and caravan sites, visitor attractions, cultural events and customer service.

Sir Gary Verity DL, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said:
“The White Rose Awards are the largest and most prestigious in the UK’s hospitality and tourism industry and we have some really exciting finalists this year from both new and established businesses. The awards are a brilliant opportunity to shine the spotlight on the fantastic experiences to be had in Yorkshire. As well as the coveted gongs expect a night of first class entertainment – an event not to be missed!”

Professor Colin Mellor, Chair of the White Rose Award Judges
, said:

“Winning a White Rose Award is a real accolade for Yorkshire’s tourism businesses and the task of shortlisting has been harder than ever. The standard of entries has been exceptional which is evidenced by the strength of the shortlists. It is testimony to the remarkable range and quality of the region’s tourism offer. With such tough competition, and a record 170 entries, selecting the winners this year is going to be extremely difficult.”

Thank you to everyone for all your continued support.

Warrendale Wagyu

At Provenance Inns, we aim to provide our guests with the finest locally sourced produce.

That is why we have collaborated with Warrendale Wagyu to make our Black and Blue Yorkshire Wagyu Burger, Harrogate Blue, Skinny Fries, Black Sheep Beer Battered Onion Rings, Yorkshire Relish & Pickles.

Warrendale Wagyu from York was established in 2017 and is one of the largest wagyu herds in the UK, consisting of both full blood and cross bred wagyu beef. Wagyu beef is a softer, more flavoursome meat and contains a higher percentage of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, making it a healthier product as well.

The Harrogate Hospitality Awards

Harrogate’s hospitality heroes were rewarded for their excellence and commitment on the 4th June during a gala dinner with a theme celebrating the best the town has to offer at Harrogate’s Royal Hall.

The Harrogate Hospitality and Tourism Awards aim to promote the town’s hospitality offering through celebrating and rewarding those individuals who show the highest levels of commitment and strive towards excellence on the town’s behalf.

Provenance Inns would like to congratulate Laura Fell, The West Park Hotel, who won the award for Outstanding Customer Service which was sponsored by Slingsby gin. This award was thoroughly deserved. Well done Laura!
